Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar is a residential boys' senior secondary school in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India, established in 1922. It is the oldest institute of Ramakrishna Mission, and used to be visited by brother disciples of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Jayantananda is the present secretary, and Swami Divyasudhananda is the current principal of the school.
It is exclusively for boys and affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Admission to its Secondary section is restricted to standard VI only. However, a few students from other schools are also admitted to class XI, in case the seats are available for them after giving entry to its own students who do well in class X Board examination.
Admission Procedure for Class 6th Academic Session - (2022-2023).
1. Admission Overview:
Availability of online application form: 1st July 2021 onwards.
Last date to apply: 31st October 2021, Sunday. Application fee: Rs. 750 /- (+ bank charges). Last date of application fee payment: 31st October 2021, Sunday.
Admit Card availability: 15th November 2021 onwards.
Admission process: Two Phased - Written Test and Interview.
Written Test (probable date): 19th December 2021, Sunday.
Interview: To be conducted later on, only for shortlisted candidates.
2. Eligibility Criteria:
General norms regarding the eligibility for admission in class 6th :-
Candidate must be studying in class 5th (2021-2022) in any government or government recognized school.
Age of Candidate must be varied between 10-11years as on December 2021.
Height limit of candidate as on (December 2021 - 147* cm.
3. Requirement of Aadhaar:
Aadhaar Number/Aadhaar Enrollment Number of the candidate is mandatory for submission of Application Form. Candidates shall fill up Aadhaar Number, Name & Date of Birth in application form as per the Aadhaar Card.
(i) FIRST PHASE – Written Test (probable date): Sunday, 19th December 2021.
Final date will be intimated later keeping in view the prevailing health situation in the country due to Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19). Proposed to be held simultaneously at the allotted examination centres in Deoghar, Guwahati and Imphal. However, choice of venue by the applicant is not final. The allotment will be reflected on the Admit Card as per availability of seats.
A written test of total 3 hours duration (including seating, checking etc.) is proposed to be conducted in this phase. Candidates will enter the respective examination halls with admit cards and pens as specified in their admit cards. The list of the successful candidates (except those from Guwahati and Manipur centres) from this written test will be released within 15 days approximately.
(ii) Second & Final Page:-
a. The qualified candidates out of the above written test will appear in a viva-voce test (including a short written exam) at the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar on a notified date. The list of selected candidates will include students from different regions, caste & religions. The list of finally selected candidates will be notified on the website (www.rkmvdeoghar.org). b. Final selection of candidates for admission is based on the principle of promoting the cultural harmony and spirit of national integration along with academic excellence.
(iii) Medical Test: The medical test etc. of each candidate qualified for the Second & Final phase of Test will be conducted on the day of the Second and Final Test.

6. Syllabus for preparation:-
The syllabus for admission test (in respect of class VI) covers topics taught in class V & above, according to CBSE course. Textbooks of NCERT may, therefore, be helpful for the preparation. Questions in Mathematics and Basic Science will examine the students’ understanding of the fundamentals at their level. For English and Vernacular — knowledge of basic grammar, vocabulary, spelling, comprehension of given passages, essay writing and expression will be examined.
7. APPLYING FOR ADMISSION:-
STEP 1: FILLING OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM.
I. Candidate must ensure the following before filling the Online Application Form:
A. Keep ready all the properly scanned soft copies of the following documents in .jpeg or.png format before filling the online application:
i. Candidate’s passport size photograph
ii. Candidate’s specimen signature
iii. Candidate’s Legal Guardian’s specimen signature
iv. Candidate’s Aadhaar Card / Document of Aadhaar Enrolment Acknowledgement Receipt.
B. Keep ready a proper Email Id and proper Mobile Number with you. These (mainly email id) will be used for the future communication.
C. Other miscellaneous details such as father’s and mother’s occupation, salary, contacts etc. and other family details.

I. Once the initial details are submitted, select the venue. However, choice of venue by the applicant is not final. The allotment will be reflected on the Admit Card as per availability of seats.

8. Instructions to Guardians:-Parents/Legal guardians are to accompany their wards during the final test.They will be required to produce the original documents. Their wards will be tested mainly for general intelligence, expression and personality in the Second & final Test. There is no syllabus for it but the questions will be in conformity with their age and standard. Finally selected candidates will be informed by email and website notification within a month following the Admission Test.
The new session will start in April 2022.
9. Cancellation:-
Selection is liable to be cancelled if any irregularity is found (including the health report) in the application form. Suppression of facts may lead to the removal of the boy at any time, even after his admission.
Anomaly in the date of birth and in the declared height may result in non-selection of the candidates.
